Use it when: First look at a company you do not know, or a name that has moved and you need the whole file rather than a headline.

Not a futures board. Open it when you are researching a company, not when you are trading an index.

• Presets in the menu bar, under the category this desk belongs to — one click applies the whole layout, and a checkmark tracks which one is active.
• Or the command palette on Ctrl+P, which finds it by name.
• Every panel can be re-pointed at another symbol from its own header, and anything the desk does not open is in the Add Panel menu.

• 1. Security master and fundamentals on the left: what the company IS, then what it earns. Identity before opinion.
• 2. The chart and catalyst feed in the centre for price and for what has been filed recently.
• 3. Analyst ratings, ownership and insider activity on the right - the Street's view, who owns it, and what the people inside are doing with their own money.
• 4. Capital returns last: buybacks and dividends are management's own statement about what they think the shares are worth.

The tell: The combination worth stopping on is insiders buying while the Street is cutting. Ratings follow price; Form 4 filings do not.
