145 jurisdictions · 114,686 filed entities
Every public company files a list of its subsidiaries — exhibit 21 of its annual report — naming each entity and where it is incorporated. Almost nothing reads those attachments, and nothing publishes them the other way round. These pages do: pick a place, see which listed companies have entities there and how many.
Only jurisdictions with five or more companies get a page. Below that it is a list rather than an answer, and the companies are still covered on their own pages.
20 of these jurisdictions are classified as offshore financial centres. That describes the place, not the companies — incorporating a subsidiary in one is ordinary and lawful, and the reasons are not stated in the filing. What is recorded is only what each company filed itself.
