- Which brokers does Sharpnel connect to?
- A generic FIX 4.4 session and Interactive Brokers for futures; Interactive Brokers and Alpaca for stocks and options; OANDA and a MetaTrader 4/5 bridge for forex; and Binance, Bybit, OKX, Hyperliquid and Coinbase for crypto. Tastytrade and Ironbeam connect for data only. Rithmic is built and audited and switches on once ISV certification completes; Tradovate is on the roadmap.
- Can I trade forex from the terminal?
- Yes. OANDA connects through its v20 REST API with your own token and defaults to the practice environment, and a local MetaTrader 4/5 bridge routes to a terminal already running on your machine. There are also CME FX futures and dedicated FX strength and cross-rate panels.
- Does it work with crypto exchanges?
- Yes. Aggregated level-2 depth from Binance, Bybit, OKX, Hyperliquid and Coinbase is free and needs no account or API key at all. Account trading across those venues uses your own keys.
- Can I trade stocks and options?
- Yes. Alpaca handles US stocks and single-leg options with your own API keys, and Interactive Brokers handles equities plus the at-the-money options chain — chain data needs OPRA or CME-options entitlement on your own IBKR account. Tastytrade connects for chains and quotes but has no order path.
- Do I need to buy market data from Sharpnel?
- No. The terminal is bring-your-own-data: you connect the broker or exchange account you already have, and that data agreement stays between you and them. Crypto depth is the exception — it comes from public exchange feeds and costs nothing.
- Will it place orders by accident?
- No. Trading is paper by default and live routing requires an explicit ARM, which resets every launch. OANDA additionally defaults to its practice environment.
